My passion is youth ministry. Watching young people, high school and college, come alive in the Spirit and claim their faith for themselves. Problem with high school is that I would get one hour per week. I would teach them basic tenants of our faith and teachings of the Church. Then they would go home and their parents would ask "what did you talk about tonight." "Conversion of the Baptized". And the parents would say, "That doesn't sound very Catholic to me. Don't worry about that. We profess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We do not need to be reconverted or born again". One hour of teaching wasted.
So in 2012, after 12 years of high school ministry, I decided that maybe the best thing that I could do for our kids was to educate their parents.
So began Simon of the Cross Ministries (SoC).
